I think I understand how you felt that day. Way back when my twins were born I loved my job and my life; I lived on 11-1/2 acres in a tiny town 5 hours from any major city, and I worked outside most of the time. But after the twins we realized we were slowly going under financially. So I took a higher paying job and we sold our place and moved to the big city. I thought I'd be there 2 years tops but one of our kids had serious medical issues and 2 years turned in to 15. I hated my job, I hated the city, and I felt totally trapped. I suddenly understood the men you hear about who went out of the house for a pack of cigarettes or a loaf of bread and never came back. Not that I'd do that, I just realized I knew how they felt.

I eventually found a way to get through it. Sounds like you did, too. Good luck!

Different situation, good job, lousy supervisor, being pushed toward the door. But yes. Got through it.
