In puzzling over the various indignities of mankind, I thought about faces. Everyone has one, after all. Some are attractive while others...are not.
But every last one of them comes with expression. That much we know, but exactly whose expression is it? You might successfully argue it's of and by that person. I wouldn't necessarily disagree. There is, however, another factor. Consider it, just for a moment.
I once had a conversation with a pastor, whose observations were both right and wrong. He stated flatly, "Everything is an expression of God. Everything." If you believe, then all things are, you know. Any wildlife, in fact all life, is an expression of God. The roaring wind, the crashing waves, the deepest green valleys and the highest, rocky peaks, all are exactly that. A flower, a bee, the hive. Termites. Turtles. On and on.
Where he was wrong: Some things in this world are evil, and yet, no evil comes from God.
Psalm 145:17
"The LORD is righteous in all His ways and kind in all His deeds."
To me that means that some things are not, "expressions of God."
So, what are faces? Are they all, expressions of God?
I would say so. In fact, they are all, reflections of Him. Where we have trouble is what we sometimes do with those faces. That is what keeps the innocence of childhood, beautiful.
So someone asked me, "Have YOU ever seen the face of God?"
Why yes. Yes, I have.
I believe God is a whole being.
I believe He walks among us.
I believe, sexuality is not a "thing" to Him.
I believe we were all crafted in His image.
I believe He loves us, so much as to interfere with very little of what we do.
When I saw Him it was the way He looked on that day. I know it was Him because He looked right at me, and I knew.
I suspect, many, many of us have seen Him. Not everyone knows it.
Please, let Him in. I am still trying.
...
I have felt Him near a few times. I will try harder.
